Skosh Cafe – Japanese Inspired Onigiri, Sando & Specialty Matcha

I recently had a wonderful dining experience at Skosh, and a huge part of that was thanks to Phylicia’s exceptional service. From the moment I was seated, she greeted me with such a warm and genuine smile that instantly made me feel comfortable and welcome. She was attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at the perfect moments to ensure everything was going well. Phylicia took the time to explain the menu clearly, offered thoughtful recommendations, and was patient in answering any questions I had. Her knowledge and confidence really showed that she cared about providing the best possible experience. Throughout the meal, she remained professional, friendly, and efficient, making sure that everything arrived promptly and that the table was always well taken care of. What stood out most was her positive attitude and the way she handled everything with such grace and enthusiasm. It truly felt like she went above and beyond to make the experience special. Because of Phylicia’s outstanding service, my visit to Skosh was not just enjoyable, but memorable. I would definitely return again and highly recommend the place to others, especially knowing that such attentive and dedicated staff are there.

Ordered the Miso Chicken Aglio Olio and Mentaiko Rosti. Did not disappoint. Flavourful and very well done, better than many other famous restaurants. Taro latte was smooth too. Definitely come back again.

Got the taro matcha and cinnamon latte. Matcha wasn't whisked properly, had lots of sediments. The base could be sweeter. The taro foam was nice and flavourful though. Maybe I will get the taro latte instead next time. Cinnamon latte was ok, strong cinnamon taste.

I dined here today and accidentally knocked over my drink, spilling it across the table and floor. I asked for help right away—two staff members noticed immediately and jumped in. One cleared and cleaned the table while the other brought tissues and helped make sure my laptop was safe (thankfully, nothing got inside). They then guided me to another table and, to my surprise, brought me a fresh drink to replace the one I spilled—even though it was entirely my fault and I never asked for a replacement. That level of care really stood out. Amazing drink, 5-star service. Highly recommended!

Visited on a Monday afternoon at around 1.30pm and it wasn’t crowded. Placed my order for the beef omurice via the QR code and didn’t have to wait very long for the food to be served. The portion was huge and the taste was to my liking. The barley added to the rice was a nice touch which provided a different texture. Will be back to try other items on the menu (:

SKOSH Cafe is a dream for fans of Japanese flavors! Their Japanese-inspired onigiris and sandos are expertly crafted and taste absolutely great, paired perfectly with their high-quality specialty matcha. The minimalist vibe is lovely, but it gets busy quickly. I’d highly suggest making a reservation, especially on weekends, to ensure you snag a spot at this popular gem!

Beef is too tough but the gravy was on point. The beef omu rice used to have tender beef but now it is tough and dry. Fish and chips: fish is not seasoned well and taste flat- however the fish is meaty and the batter is light and crisp.

The food and drinks were excellent. We tried the Beef Omurice and the Miso Chicken Aglio Olio, and both were delicious. We also had their desserts after our mains—the Chocolate Mochi Cookie and the Earl Grey Lavender Cheesecake—and they were just as impressive. Prices are around the average range for 2025.
